I’ve had  quite a few people ask me how to make a round picture that goes in the side bar of their blog, so I thought I would put a tutorial on here to show you how I do it. I know some people make round images using Photoshop, but I don’t do it that way because I use Microsoft Word and Paint and I think it’s far simple.

Although there are a few steps to the process, it really is quite easy to make a round image for blogger page and I’m going to show you with step by step photos how I do it…

Step 1.  Obviously you need to find the image you want to use. I always think if it’s your own blog, then it’s nice for people to see who is behind the blog… But it’s your choice how you use your own space on the internet, and I know some people are a little bit shy about putting photos of themselves on their blog.

Step 2.  Think about what part of the image you want within your circle and how you want the image centered. Then crop the image with a simple square.

Step 3. Now save this cropped image where you can easily find it again later.

Tip; If you hold down the ‘shift’ key whilst drawing, you will be able to draw a perfect circle without it going into an oval shape.

Step 6.  Keep the shape selected (by clicking into the shape you just made) … The ‘format’ tab will be selected along the top bar…Click on ‘shape fill’ … Then click on ‘picture’… When you do that your files will open and you can choose the cropped picture that you saved in step 3… Your picture will automatically be placed within the circle.

Step 11.  Save the image… And there you have your lovely image in a neat little circle ready to put on your blog.

So you see there are a few steps to this process, but it is the easiest way I know to make a nice neat circular picture.

Note:  If you’re putting it onto a background that is white, you won’t see the white border on this… If your background isn’t white, you may want to change the color of the border on your image.

I hope I’ve explained how to make a round image for bloggers so it’s easy to understand. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments section and I’ll do my best to help further.

Also, if you want me to make a tutorial on how to add an ‘about me’ section into your sidebar let me know and I’ll add it to my list of blog posts to do.
