Oh my goodness! I am absolutely in love with this gorgeous twine made out of scrap fabric!

Let’s face it, a lot of us have stashes of scrap fabric left over from projects that we just can’t bear to throw away because they’ll come in handy one day… Well this is that day! Well for me it is anyway lol πŸ˜€

I’m super excited about this find on Pinterest! All credit for this one goes to Cintia over at My Poppet! It’s a great way to use up all those oddments of fabric or clothes that no longer have a use.
My head is spinning with great ways I can use this once it’s made up πŸ˜€

What you’ll need to make your fabric twine

  • Scrap fabric cut into strips … maximum 1″ wide
  • Scissors
  • Something to wind your twine onto… I love those big vintage looking bobbins … I found these… (or just cardboard would work fine)
  • Lots of time… This is quite a time consuming project, but it can easily be done whilst watching tv or on long car journeys (obviously only if you’re a passenger πŸ˜€ ) Or on flights.

Below is Cintia’s great video tutorial that shows exactly how simple this fabric twine is to make.

I’m hoping to make enough of this to make a crochet rug πŸ˜€

  • There are so many things you could use this for

  • Bag handles

  • Necklaces & Bracelets

  • Piping on cushions or clothing

  • Pouffe

  • Macrame

  • Belts

  • Baskets & Bags

  • Pet Beds

  • Cord for attaching bunting

I’m going to look at ways of speeding the process up a bit too. maybe using some sort of mandrill or a hand drill… Hmmm I’ll have to give this some thought lol … Any ideas would be greatly appreciated πŸ˜€ xx
