Aren’t these hand crochet shawls just gorgeous! ๐Ÿ™‚ … And so snuggly warm.

These Arcade stitch hand crochet shawl scarfs are really versatile to wear… Either simply wrapped around… Or folded over to create a collared look… You could use a pin or toggle clasp to hold them in the wrap position. I am absolutely in love with mine! ๐Ÿ™‚

They are approximately 150cm x 54cm ( 59″ x 21″) … Not including the tassels. The tassels are approximately 9cm long and run along both ends and all the way down one side. The second long side doesn’t have any tassels as this is the edge that can be folded over to give the impression of a collar.

I made this with a beautiful soft acrylic chunky yarn, ‘James C Brett’ … The stitch pattern is Arcade stitchย and the tutorial for that can be found here

This design is one long length which is approximately 150cm x 54cmย for the purple/pink one… and the brown/green one is approximately 142cm x 54cm… and then has tassels added to the ends and along one long side, which are approximately 9cm long.

I used 2 balls of James C Brett Yarn in each shawl, and they are 200g balls…

Here is the autumnal colours

Here is the Purples/Pinks

This yarn can be machine washed on a dedicates setting… Or hand washed in warm water. Do not wring the water out, but squeeze gently and dry flat

They are great fun to make and this yarn works up beautifully and is so soft. It’s the first time I’ve used it, but I’ve already placed an order for more because I’ve been asked to make a light blue one. I’m also going to make a blanket as I think this yarn and the Arcade stitch would be perfect for a blanket. oh dear, my list of things I want to make just keeps getting longer and longer haha

Hello everyone and welcome :-)

Well that was all pretty simple to do… I just set up my new blog ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for soooo long, but there was always other things to do, and I kinda thought it would be a bit harder to set up than it was. But when I actually set aside some time to do it, it was quite straight forward really.

The first thing I did was… Make a cup of tea! In my world, everything starts with a nice cuppa ๐Ÿ™‚
I’ve been reading other people’s blogs for so long, and I’ve got to say, I do love a good blog! I’m massively into crafting, so can spend many hours trawling through Pinterest, which then often leads me to another blog full of interesting titbits of information. In my mother’s and grandmother’s generations and generations before them, most crafting skills were passed down the family like valuable heirlooms… But now, we’re all learning new skills because we have so much information available to us at the click of a button. We’re not limited to the crafts that our parents passed on to us. It’s much easier for us to venture out and learn anything that takes our fancy. Buying our crafting supplies has become very easy to do, and we don’t even have to leave the comfort of home if we don’t want to, or haven’t got the ability to. Visual Sense Crafts is a great place to buy affordable craft supplies and hand made gifts, and also my Etsy shop here. Add my Etsy shop to your favorites, as I’ll be adding loads of my original hand crafted items in the next few days ๐Ÿ™‚
