Hand Crochet Shawl Scarf Using Arcade Stitch – Purple, Pink With ‘James C Brett Chunky Marble Yarn’.
Aren’t these hand crochet shawls just gorgeous! 🙂 … And so snuggly warm.
These Arcade stitch hand crochet shawl scarfs are really versatile to wear… Either simply wrapped around… Or folded over to create a collared look… You could use a pin or toggle clasp to hold them in the wrap position. I am absolutely in love with mine! 🙂
They are approximately 150cm x 54cm ( 59″ x 21″) … Not including the tassels. The tassels are approximately 9cm long and run along both ends and all the way down one side. The second long side doesn’t have any tassels as this is the edge that can be folded over to give the impression of a collar.
I made this with a beautiful soft acrylic chunky yarn, ‘James C Brett’ … The stitch pattern is Arcade stitch and the tutorial for that can be found here
This design is one long length which is approximately 150cm x 54cm for the purple/pink one… and the brown/green one is approximately 142cm x 54cm… and then has tassels added to the ends and along one long side, which are approximately 9cm long.
I used 2 balls of James C Brett Yarn in each shawl, and they are 200g balls…
This yarn can be machine washed on a dedicates setting… Or hand washed in warm water. Do not wring the water out, but squeeze gently and dry flat
They are great fun to make and this yarn works up beautifully and is so soft. It’s the first time I’ve used it, but I’ve already placed an order for more because I’ve been asked to make a light blue one. I’m also going to make a blanket as I think this yarn and the Arcade stitch would be perfect for a blanket. oh dear, my list of things I want to make just keeps getting longer and longer haha
If you want crafts to make & sell, then these be great!
I have created a step by step photo tutorial on exactly how to do this beautiful crochet Arcade stitch to make it super easy for you to follow along with. You can find that tutorial by clicking HERE
